Scarlet Dungeon Dominion is an independent gaming blog run out of a walnut-panelled loft above Spadina Avenue. We write long-form RPG reviews, boss-fight strategy, and honest indie coverage — no hype, no filler.

Our process
Every post follows the same four steps so you always know how we reached a verdict.
We finish the campaign — usually 20 to 60 hours — before a word is written. Feature reviews run CA$0 to read and land 10–14 days after launch.
Boss patterns, build orders, and difficulty spikes get their own guide with annotated screenshots and a spoiler toggle so newcomers stay safe.
We reserve one slot a week for a game under CA$25 from a small studio, with a short interview and a link straight to the developer's store page.
Two weeks after publishing we update every review with reader corrections and patch notes, so old posts never quietly go stale.

Good to know
Completely. Every review, guide, and interview is free with no paywall and no account required. We keep the lights on through a small optional membership and a single unobtrusive sponsor slot per week, clearly labelled.
We use a plain 1-to-10 scale with a one-line summary at the top of every review. A score only publishes after a writer completes the main campaign, and we note total playtime so you know how deep the impression goes.
Yes. We pay freelance contributors per accepted piece and love hearing from writers outside Toronto. Send a short pitch through the contact form below with a link to something you've written and we'll reply within a week.
We do, and we always disclose it at the top of the article. A free key never guarantees a positive verdict — several of our lowest scores came from games we were sent directly. Email us and we'll share our press contact.
Our loft on Spadina Avenue hosts an open tabletop night most Thursdays from 6pm. Seats are limited, so message us first to reserve a spot. Reviews and drop-ins outside that window are by appointment only.
